This is an AK-47 TPU injection-molded recoil buffer, and it’s a critical component when running an AK with an FRT.
Under the forces caused by an added FRT, the AK bolt carrier can momentarily lift off the guide rails during rearward travel. That rail lift introduces instability, inconsistent cycling, and accelerated wear.
The TPU recoil buffer addresses this by controlling rearward impact and carrier movement, keeping the bolt carrier aligned on the rails throughout the cycle.
Because TPU has controlled elasticity, it absorbs and returns energy rather than dead-stopping the carrier. The result is:
• Reduced bolt carrier lift
• More consistent rail engagement
• Smoother, more stable cycling at speed
• Less stress on the rear trunnion and carrier
For AK FRT setups, this buffer isn’t an accessory—it’s a functional necessity to maintain reliability and mechanical alignment under rapid operation.
